The Kentucky Performance Rating for Educational Progress assessment, K-PREP, will be given to students in grades 3-8 beginning Monday, May 15th, and will continue through Friday, May 19th. Third grade and seventh grade students will complete testing on Wednesday, May 17th. Fourth grade and sixth grade students will complete testing on Thursday, May 18th, and fifth grade and eighth grade students will complete testing on Friday, May 19th.
It is very important that your child attends school every day and arrives on time. The assessments will begin promptly at 8:15 a.m. and continue until all parts that are scheduled for each day are completed.
We ask that you do not make appointments during school hours on those days so that your child will not miss any part of his/her assessment. In order for your child to do his/her best, please make sure he/she gets plenty of rest and eats breakfast at home or at school. Studies have proven that rest and a good breakfast will enhance the performance of those being assessed. We also ask that you do not visit the school during testing hours so that we can provide a consistent testing environment for all students.
Our faculty and staff have worked diligently in teaching your child. K-PREP is one way to determine if your child has mastered grade level standards. We would like to ask your assistance in encouraging your child to do his or her best on the assessment. You can do this by asking your child to read all directions carefully, think about the answer to the questions, and answer all parts of every question.
Thank you for your continued support of Anchorage School.
