The Anchorage Parent Teacher Association is accepting nominations for parents to serve on the Anchorage Independent Board of Education Local Planning Committee (LPC). The 10-member committee includes a school board member, school staff, district staff, two parents, a community member and a city representative. Parent members are required to be selected by the local parent teacher association and must reside in the school district in order to be eligible to serve.
LPC members are responsible for the development of a district facility plan for Anchorage Independent School District that will help in determining future school facility construction priorities and major renovation needs. Those serving on the committee will be asked to study provided facility-related information and to attend approximately 4-7 related meetings which will be held November, 2017 through late January, 2018.
Parents will be asked to vote to select two parents to serve on the LPC from eligible nominations received. The deadline to submit nominations is October 17, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. APS parents will be informed of eligible nominations received via the School News email on October 19, 2017. On October 20 and October 23, 2017, parents will have the opportunity to vote for two of the nominated candidates from 7:50 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. at the front office of the school.

- Name of nominee
- Name(s) and grade(s) of child(ren) attending Anchorage Public School
- Reason for interest in serving on committee
- Any applicable experience
