I hope you have been saving those pull tabs that come on so many cans! We will again be collecting those to see which homeroom class brings in the most! Please send them to school by Friday, April 27. Your child may bring them to his or her homeroom teacher or you may put them in my mailbox. You may not have a lot but they add up when put together. The winning class will have a party in May when WAVE news anchor Dawne Gee, who also works with Indian Summer Camp, will come so we can present them to her. The proceeds from the pull tabs go to the camp which is for kids who have been diagnosed with cancer. Ms. Gee will talk to the class about this camp and how special it is. It is offered every summer to these kids at no charge to them. Cancer is expensive and many could not go without this help. Collecting pull tabs is the camp’s number 1 fund raiser. You may visit their website by going to kidscanceralliance.org. You can see pictures of the kids at camp by looking under kids & parents to find the photo gallery. You will see them laughing and enjoying all the fun things kids do at camp, taking their minds off cancer for a little while.
Thank you for your help,
