Yoga is new this year and open to students in 1st-4th grade. This 6-week program gives kids an opportunity to have fun while strengthening the mind-body connection. This second session will start next Wednesday, November 7th through December 19th.
Kelly Nichols, an Anchorage parent and yoga instructor with 200 certified hours at Bend and Zen studio, is excited to share her passion in this healthy, non-competitive setting. Yoga has been shown to help kids manage stress, increase confidence and self-image, build concentration, and develop body awareness. Participants will work on the fundamentals of yoga, including strength, breathing techniques, and flexibility. No previous yoga experience necessary.
The class will meet in the Stem Lab from 3-4 on Wednesdays right after school.
