Kentucky Youth Assembly (KYA) Begins Monday, September 16th

The Kentucky Youth Assembly (KYA) is a 3-day experiential learning program in which students serve as part of a model state government. KYA offers students the opportunity to learn about a wide variety of issues, develop critical thinking skills, and articulate their beliefs while engaging constructively with their peers from around the Commonwealth.

Anchorage School is excited to offer this new extracurricular opportunity to middle school students to attend the 2019 KYA conference December 8-10 at the Crowne Plaza hotel in Louisville and travel to Frankfort to visit the State Capitol.  KYA will meet on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 7:15-7:50am to prepare for the conference (please note that practice days have been changed due to a scheduling conflict). The first practice is Monday, September 16th.

More information about KYA can be found at http://www.kyymca.org/kya/.  Watch an informational video about the benefits of KUNA and KYA, or watch a fun video from a previous session to see what happens at KYA!

Please see Ms. Morris or Ms. Fisher for this informational flyer and commitment form.  Email Ms. Fisher with any questions! amy.fisher@anchorage.kyschools.us.   We are so excited about providing this opportunity for students!
