The U.S. Department of Education (USED) announced this week that it will require states to administer a statewide assessment (KPREP for Kentucky) for the 2020-2021 school year. USED feels it is necessary to administer these assessments in order to understand the impact COVID-19 has had on learning. APS will view this assessment as another opportunity for us to learn more about the needs of our students and how we can provide additional supports to move their learning forward.
So what will KPREP look like? At this point, we are unsure, but we do know that the administration of the assessment will be more flexible, and the length of the assessment may be shortened. As that information unfolds, we will be sure to pass it along to our families.
