Anchorage Public School has been the focal point of the Anchorage community for over 100 years. Located in the historic East End of Louisville, Anchorage prides itself in being a small home town for many of Louisville’s community leaders, professional families, and corporate owners and administrators. Special emphasis is made on keeping class sizes small and providing teaching assistants to all our K-3 classrooms.
As an independent public school district within Jefferson County, Anchorage is able to provide a very generous and competitive benefits package, including participation in the Kentucky Teachers Retirement System, State health insurance, life insurance, flexible spending accounts, group dental and vision plans, cancer insurance, and retirement annuities.
Employees also benefit from the outstanding initiatives of the Anchorage Parent Teacher Association. The APTA typically raises over $100,000 each year to support the students and faculty. Throughout the year, APTA also sponsors faculty lunches, special occasion goodies and surprises, and constantly raises awareness of the wonderful education being provided by Anchorage School.
The district is committed to hiring “top-shelf” educators and support personnel who have high expectations for themselves and their students. We are pleased to announce the following openings.
